KOTA KINABALU: In spite of heavy rain and flash floods which inundated five primary schools in Beaufort district, UPSR examinations in the state went on as planned today. The affected schools – SK Bukau, SK Maraba, SK Weston, SK Lubok and SK Lingkungan – have a combined 90 UPSR candidates sitting for the second day of the exams today. Meanwhile, in a statement issued today, the Sabah Civil Defence Department said two villages in Beaufort – Kampung Lingkungan Laut and Kampung Lingkungan Tengah – were flooded following a heavy downpour since yesterday. Civil defence personnel have been deployed to the affected villages to assist residents and SK Lingkungan students who are sitting for their UPSR exams. Heavy rains continue to pound the state capital, but the Sabah Fire and State Department and the Civil Defence Department have yet to receive any report of flooding here.
