As heavy rain lashed the city, multiple reports of accidents started pouring in, creating paranoia among citizens who preferred to stay inside their homes on the weekday. On top of this, power outages were reported across multiple areas of the city, which added to the miseries of the people. The chief minister also spotted women and children walking in the rainwater and dropped them off to their destination in his car. The chief minister also expressed disappointment at the claims of former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding transforming the city into “Paris”. According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Lahore received over 300 millimeters of rain on Tuesday and more rain is expected in the next few days.
