All County of Maui parks were closed until further notice because of heavy rains and flooding, the Department of Parks and Recreation announced. "Winter of 88-89 was some flooding during a downpour but never anything close to this," she told CNN. Ana Paula DeCarlo told CNN her family was safe although they were stuck at home due to the roadway washing out.
