Wellington motorists are being asked to take care after heavy rain overnight led to slips around the city. Heavy rain overnight and on Thursday morning has led to slips closing roads across Wellington, with commuters urged to take extra care. MetService has issued a heavy rain warning for the Wellington region until 2pm on Thursday. There's also a heavy rain warning for Mt Taranaki through to Thursday evening. Heavy rain was also possible in northern Taranaki, Kapiti Coast and Horowhenua during Thursday, MetService said.
