Heavy presence of riot police deployed but no sign of protestRiot police standing on Canton RoadAnti-government protesters announced on social media of plans to hold flash mobs in five districts including Causeway Bay, Sai Ying Pun, Tai Po, Mong Kok and Kwun Tong at 2 pm this afternoon, but no signs of protest as of 3pm. Patrolling police has stopped people and checked their identity card but were not encountering any groups of protesters. On social media channels popular with anti-government protesters, people are encouraging others to shop and support “yellow businesses” -- shops that support the anti-extradition bill movement --- on Labour Day. The decision was announced after the police refused to grant permission for the Labour Day march. They urged people to join a minute of slogan chanting "Five demands, not one less” at 5.01pm.
