A heated debate ensued in the National Assembly yesterday over the CDF kitty, forcing Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso to adjourn the House business. “If there is no CDF, there is no budget,” Nyenze said as other MPs stood demanding to speak. A section of the legislators led by minority leader Francis Nyenze threatened to stop the budget process, if CDF is not featured. The lawmakers’ appetite for the millions provided in the CDF kitty forced the Deputy Speaker to immediately convene MPs for a Kamukunji that was scheduled for Wednesday morning. Nominated MP Johnston Sakaja pleaded with his colleagues to stop the pandemonium, but he too was not spared.
