South African golfer Louis de Jager had to withdraw from this week's Open Championship after testing positive for Covid-19. De Jager was expected to make his Major debut at this week's Open at Royal St George's Golf Club in Sandwich, England. The 34-year-old returned a positive Covid-19 test on Monday alongside 2015 Open champion Zach Johnson with American Ryan Moore also pulled out of the Major due to a back injury. Meanwhile, reigning Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama and two-time winner Bubba Watson withdrew on Sunday due to Covid-19, along with 2001 Open champion David Duval. No reason was given for Duval's withdrawal but the 49-year-old did shoot 91, 78 at Portrush two years ago.
