The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court will hold further hearing on the appeals in the Saudi embassy official Khalaf Al Ali murder case from October 17. Saiful, Al Amin, Rafiqul Islam Khokon, Akbar Ali Lalu, and Selim Chowdhury were sentenced to death by a Dhaka Court in December 2012. The High Court later acquitted Selim, sentenced Al Amin, Khokon and Lalu to life in prison. The government then filed separate appeals with the Supreme Court seeking the death penalty for all the convicts. Khalaf Al Ali was shot dead near of his Gulshan residence in March, 2012.
