Healthy Rivers - Wai Ora plan change commissioners announcedDOMINICO ZAPATA/STUFF The commissioners for the Healthy River Wai Ora plan change will conduct hearings, take submissions and make recommendations to council. Four independent commissioners have been appointed to the Healthy Rivers - Wai Ora: Propose Plan Change 1 hearings panel. The decision by the Healthy Rivers Wai Ora Committee was supported by the Waikato Regional Council in December 2017. The commissioners will be tasked with hearing and deliberating on submissions to the proposed plan change for Waikato and Waipā rivers, before making a recommendation to council. The commissioners reflect a co-governance approach of council, river iwi and the Waikato River Authority, Waikato Regional Council said in a statement.
