Government has banned overseas placements of health workers. Even overseas health employees who were vacationing home or had just been recruited suddenly could not leave, the Nagkaisang Labor Coalition lamented. About 240,000 health workers are debarred, POEA administrator Bernard Olalia told ABS-CBN Teleradyo on Monday. Experienced health workers are in demand in rich countries in America, Europe, East Asia, and the Middle East. Meanwhile, 400,000 overseas Filipino workers face job loss or pay cuts due to pandemic-induced industrial slump.
