Health bosses of four of the country's district health boards (DHBs) have become entangled in a costly IT blowout. Controversy has also surrounded the Waikato DHB's virtual health initiative SmartHealth, with the Auditor-General asked to investigate the project. NZ Health Partnerships said 33 people – both staff and contractors – are working on the NOS programme. Asked how much money the Waikato DHB had invested in the project, Chrystall said she could not immediately recall.
