BALIK PULAU: The Health Ministry may review its ban on ozone therapy treatment in the country following a plea by the Ozone Medical Practitioners Association Malaysia (PPPOM). Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya told newsmen here that further research might be needed, however, before the ministry decides to review the ban. He also said that there is no deadline on research findings that would prompt the ministry to review the ban, it as it would take a long time conduct. On Wednesday, the Health Ministry announced an official ban on ozone therapy following a thorough assessment made on the treatment, its properties, claims and supposed effects. PPPOM, however, has requested a review of the ministry’s ban, saying that there may be confusion over the therapy being a “health” treatment, rather than a “beauty” procedure.
