KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry has cautioned the public against buying four cosmetic products which were found to contain scheduled poison. The ministry, under the National Pharmacy Regulatory Division, said the products from three companies were found to contain mercury, hydroquinone and tretinoin. The products are Nuriz Shoppe –UV Pearl Cream and Nuriz-D’solve (containing mercury); Aura Gorgeous Night Cream (mercury); NV Anti Blemish Toner (containing hydroquinone and tretinoin. Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the ministry has recalled the notification numbers for the products. “Products containing hydroquinone and tretinoin are registered pharmaceutical products which have to be registered with the drug control authorities and can only be used with the health professionals supervision,” he said.
