Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, met with Ghada Waly, the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Office in Vienna. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the Minister directed cooperation with the United Nations Office on Crime and Drugs. Additionally, the Minister emphasized the need to establish centres providing medical services and psychological support for displaced individuals from neighbouring countries. Ghada Waly confirmed that the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime is prioritizing the citizens’ right to voluntary treatment for addiction within the Opiate Alternatives Programme. The program aims to facilitate access to mental health services, ensuring society and families can effectively address drug-related issues.
