That includes 44 million doses from Moderna, 40 million from Pfizer-BioNTech, 23.9 million AstraZeneca, and at least 10 million from Johnson & Johnson. It was developed by Novovax, and Canada has prepurchased at least 52 million doses, with options of up to 76 million more. In all, Canada has contracted to buy up to 400 million doses under contracts with seven vaccine manufacturers, details of which Ottawa insists are confidential. Half of that, $220 million, will procure up to 15 million vaccine doses for Canada, the other half will help lower-income countries. Johnson & Johnson has also had issues with production after falling behind on its targets early this year.
