Recent headlines involving the TTC make up a litany of nightmares. Earlier this year two teens were charged following the stabbing of a TTC bus driver in North York. According to Spurr’s reporting there were 358 “common assaults” on TTC bus patrons between 2016 and 2021, and 477 common assaults on bus operators. But if you’re avoiding the TTC on account of these events, try if you can to put them into perspective. Now it’s up to the TTC to convince scared riders and would-be riders that this is so.
