Mr. Welder paddles with a group of friends on the French Broad River. The idea of floating headfirst down a roaring river sounds scary, but Mr. Welder says Bellyaking has more room for error than kayaking. Mr. Welder has a workout room in his home and does push-ups, pull-ups, dips, sit-ups, biceps curls and bench presses.
