Lucky for Londoners, there are plenty of great country pubs that are nestled in beautiful countryside that are within easy reach of the capital. Adding to this offering is The White Horse, a newly opened pub restaurant in the picturesque village of Graffham, West Sussex that is under a two hour drive from south London and a good excuse for a day trip, or weekend away. Expect dishes such as Sussex pork terrines with caramelised apple puree and hazelnut salad, wild sea bass with Jerusalem artichoke and lobster beignet; and a rack of South Downs lamb with braised shepherd’s pie and squash puree. The South Downs has plenty of walks to do, whether you want to tackle part of the South Downs Way or not. There are also several walks near to Graffham too, which are of varying degrees of difficulties and lengths.
