Two people were killed in a head-on collision between two buses on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Chittagong on early Friday morning. The accident took place near Mogpukur Par area in Sitakunda upazila, sources told the Dhaka Tribune. One of the victims, Kamrul Islam, 37, died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH). Kumira highway police station OC Jahangir Alam said when the accident took place, Kamrul and another passenger tried to escape by jumping out of their bus through one of the windows. Kamrul was grievously injured, but the other victim, who had yet to be identified when this report was filed, died on the spot, the OC added.
