Sygnia executive chairperson Magda Wierzycka claims she suffered emotional abuse while being a senior executive at fund manager Coronation. In her newly released book, Magda: My Journey, Wierzycka dedicated a whole chapter to her "Coronation Years", where she claims she was the target of Coronation's co-founder and former CEO Thys du Toit's "rage". Du Toit denies these claims, saying they are disturbing and false. In the book, Wierzycka regards herself as being "instrumental" in growing Coronation from a "start-up" to one of the "premier" asset managers in SA. And she was "the face of Coronation" to many clients and was taken seriously in "every boardroom" across SA from a young age.
