Following the expose, a senior student at the university reportedly dismissed the photos as showing hazing abuses. This is not to say that bullying is often involved in incidents of hazing abuses which could inflict trauma on youngsters forced to take part in them. Without an ability to grow genuine appreciation and respect for human rights, hazing abuses and other related problems will never be rooted out in the country. Contrary to what the senior student surmised, putting people through naughty or humiliating experiences together can hardly foster team spirit. The senior student reportedly said that all the activities were designed to foster feelings of unity and team spirit.
