A Times investigation has revealed how a national shortage of GPs has left surgeries understaffed with one practice saying that it has had only one permanent doctor caring for as many as 11,000 patients. As a result, families registered with the worst-hit surgeries – some of which have six times the normal number of patients per GP – say they have to wait up to nine weeks for an appointment. As the staffing crisis continues to get worse – the average practice now has 200 more patients per permanent, fully qualified GP than four years ago – we want to hear about your GP experiences.
