Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Nazrul Islam, briefing the media after the meeting, said Hasina described the plight of the Rohingya refugees, particularly women and children. “They are also creating pressure on food as the arable land of the local people has been given for camps of Rohingys,” she said. Initially, around 100,000 forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals would be shifted there and the work to this end was under way, she said. Hasina said the government has set aside a 60 percent quota for the female candidates in the recruitment of primary school teachers. She said she was impressed to see the measures on women empowerment implemented under the leadership of Hasina.
