Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla has said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India is of the highest importance to his country. “From the Indian side, we are giving the highest importance to the honourable prime minister’s visit to India,” the high commissioner told reporters after a meeting with Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque on Monday. The Indian envoy held talks with the foreign secretary about preparatory issues and the agenda for the Bangladeshi premier’s visit, a Foreign Ministry source said. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Hasina to stay at Rashtrapati Bhaban, the president’s residence, where no head of state normally gets the opportunity to stay, said Shringla. As such, this visit is very important in many aspects for both the countries,” he added.
