On Monday evening at its annual awards ceremony, the Council of Fashion Designers of America named Soho-based streetwear label Supreme the “Best Menswear Designer of the Year.” In honoring Supreme, the CFDA--the engine that supports much of the American fashion industry through mentorship, financial support and awards such as this--made a significant break from years past.
