Miss World Manushi Chhillar's pet project, back when she was crowned the Miss India in June 2017, was that of menstrual hygiene for women, especially in rural setups. During a press interaction in Kurukshetra, Haryana, on November 30, CM Khattar, with Miss World Manushi Chhillar and Miss World Organisation Chairwoman Julia Morley, announced that he would be making sanitary napkins for all girls in government schools available for free.
