Akonnor was named as the new head of the technical team of the Black Stars by the country’s football association in January. “You know he has coached Hearts of Oak before, he has coached Goldfields before, and he has coached Kotoko before. When a coach loses one or two, three matches in this country they want to fire him. Coach CK Akonnor is expected to play his first match with the Black Stars when CAF gives the clear for qualifying matches to the next AFCON to be played.
