Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are running markedly different transition efforts to be ready for the potential responsibility of taking over the federal government. Harris’ team is being led by the former U.S. ambassador to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Trump has thus far eschewed federal support for his transition team. A Biden administration official said the White House “is actively working with the Trump transition team" to complete an agreement. “There is no transition without a successful campaign, and that’s where the focus is," a Harris transition spokesperson said on the condition of anonymity to discuss the matter.
