SOFTBALL: The Whanganui Braves had battle hard to a 6-4 win over the Linton Sentinels in the latest round of club softball at Bill Brown Park. The top batter was Liam Bassick from Blue Sox, batting two from four, picking up a walk and a home run for a batting average of .666. In the women's competition, Kingswood Anahera had a tight 11-10 win over Feilding United. Blue Sox pulled away late in their game against the Kingswood Angels for a 17-6 win. In the men's social competition, the Bramac Bombers beat Huia 15-5 and Linton BBs beat the Cowboys 16-4.
