Chaiyaphum native Neung (not her real name), 21, was rescued from sex traffickers in Manama, capital of the Middle East country, and returned to Thailand on Saturday. The family personally thanked foundation president Paveena Hongsakul on Monday at its offices in Pathum Thani. Supaporn put Neung in touch with a foreign man and arranged for her to travel to Bahrain on August 4 to meet him. With Neung safe at home again, her family is urging other young women not to accept offers of well-paying jobs or marriages abroad. She said many such women ended up being forced into prostitution or hard labour that was often also illegal.
