Stocks are inching higher in Hong Kong today ahed of the close. The benchmark Hang Seng Index is at 24,784.17, up by 13.76 points, or 0.06 percent. In mainland China, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index closed at 2,937.77, up by just 0.24 percent. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange Composite Index was flat at 1,856.89
