The Egyptians maintained their tempo in the second half, which was interrupted for around ten minutes with just three minutes remaining as tensions boiled over in the stands. Earlier in the day, Algeria defeated Angola 32-27 in the third-place playoff as both sides secured their place in next year's World Championship, which will take place in Egypt.
