Just 76 swabs were taken at the Claudelands swabbing site on Thursday, Waikato DHB said. Hamilton’s queues for Covid swabs have shortened after an initial rush in the early days of New Zealand’s latest outbreak. The Claudelands Covid testing station was reopened to deal with the numbers but has now closed again, Waikato DHB said on Friday. Otherwise, people can still get swabbed in Hamilton at the Founders Theatre site, and from general practices that are offering Covid testing. On Thursday, 1165 tests from around the Waikato region were processed by the Waikato DHB lab.
