Ontario has seen its second case of a rare blood clotting condition after a man in his 60s got the AstraZeneca vaccine in Hamilton. Hamilton Public Health Services confirmed the case of vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT) as a result of a AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD vaccine in a statement on Friday afternoon. Canada has four other official cases of VITT, which is estimated to occur in one out of every 100,000 to 250,000 people vaccinated with the AstraZeneca-Oxford COVID-19 vaccine.
