Hamid’s claim NDC spent Ghc3bn on presidential staff false – Minority

The Information Minister in an attempt to justify the government’s record 998 presidential staff said the previous government spent a lot more of government resources than the current government. ““Our list, for example, is a little above the President Mahama list, but if you look at the budget for office machinery under President Mahama it is way above our budget. For 2017, they had about ¢3 billion, but we came in 2017 with about ¢1.5 billion,” Mustapha Abdul Hamid said. But the Minority in a statement in response to the claim described it as false, arguing that the previous government’s expenditure was rather around GHS580 million. It stood at GHS 587,470,165.23 and not GHS 3 billion.
