In a statement, Hallmark channel owner Mike Perry said the company has been “agonizing” over the decision to pull the ad “as we’ve seen the hurt it has unintentionally caused” and apologized. Zola had said it would stop advertising on the Hallmark channel altogether. Earlier this year, Bill Abbott, CEO of Crown Media Family Networks, Hallmark’s parent company, said the network is “open” to airing a movie with a same-sex couple.
