One of the area’s most accomplished stock car drivers is headed to the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame. Norwood native Derek Lynch, 51, will be among 13 individuals and one organization inducted into the Hall at the International Auto Show in Toronto next February. “I was literally speechless,” said Lynch, of receiving the call from Hall chair Peter Lockhart informing him of his induction. CASCAR was purchased by NASCAR for the 2007 series and the series was renamed the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Lynch competed part-time in the Canadian Tires Series in 2009; he finished between 11th and 18th at each event.
