HALIFAX—Sympathies have been pouring out on social media following a shooting that shook Fredericton, N.B. For Haligonians seeking a more tangible place to leave their messages of comfort, Halifax has opened several condolence books for the public to write in. Two city police officers were among four people who died in a shooting in a residential area on the city's north side. The shooter, a 48-year-old man from Fredericton, was taken to hospital in custody with serious injuries. Burns, 43, was an officer with Fredericton Police for two years, she was married and was a mother of three.
