Half of Torontonians support King St. pilot, poll finds

Most Torontonians are aware of the King St. pilot project, and half of them approve of the effort to improve streetcar service on the downtown street, according to a new poll. A new Forum poll says awareness of the King St. pilot project is very high, showing that the city and TTC have done a good job getting the word out. At least 65,000 people ride the King streetcar every weekday. The Forum poll seems to confirm that passengers are migrating to King. Toronto is tackling traffic with a year-long pilot project that bans motorists from driving through a busy downtown section of King Street, which started on Nov. 12.
