Half a million up for grabs in African Spelling Bee championshipThe Spelling Bee Championship was first held in Nairobi County in 2016 where a pilot was done before the program could be rolled out to all the counties. In 2017 the program was rolled out to over 2000 schools in 36 counties in Kenya. The best 3 spellers at the sub-county championships then meet at the county championships to again identify the best 3 spellers who will represent their respective counties at the National Championship on the spelling bee TV show on KTN Home. The best 3 spellers in Kenya will advance to represent the Country in the 4th African Spelling Bee Championship which will be held in Uganda this year where over 22 African Counties are expected to participate.
