MONTREAL - Simona Halep reasserted herself in the third set to seal a 6-0, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Angelique Kerber and reach the final of the WTA hardcourt tournament in Montreal. Halep is in the final of the tournament for the second straight year. "After the first set, I was trying to forget the first 25 or 30 minutes," Kerber said. Halep got off to a roaring start against an out-of-sorts Kerber. In last year's title match she retired in the third set because of illness to hand the title to unseeded Swiss Belinda Bencic.
