Halal Fresh is a recipe box catering for halal eaters, but rather than focusing on the traditional dishes such as curries and chapatis, they specialise in adventurous and nutritional cuisines. Halal Fresh, which was launched in 2017, also aims to get people to cook healthy meals from scratch using fresh and organic ingredients. For example herbs and spices found in Thai food, such as turmeric contain bioactive compounds with medicinal properties. Reach Plc, which owns the Daily Mirror, teamed up with Halal Fresh to host a cook-along to celebrate Eid and South Asian Heritage month at the weekend. Halal Fresh provided the recipe boxes so more than 80 staff could cook a biryani - a popular Eid dish.
