more-inA day after the Supreme Court upheld her marriage with Shafin Jahan, Hadiya submitted a leave application at the homeopathy college in Salem, where she is studying, and left with her husband for her home State Kerala on Friday. Interacting with journalists at her college during the interval session on Friday, Ms. Hadiya said the Supreme Court judgement had given her the freedom to go with her husband. Ms. Hadiya was happy that the Supreme Court judgement had come on the day when the world was celebrating International Women’s Day. Earlier, the Supreme Court, while hearing the case, had directed Ms. Hadiya to re-join the college to continue her internship for completing the degree course. Since then, she has been staying in the college hostel in Salem under the direct supervision of the principal.
