ALOR SETAR: PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang delivered his policy speech at the party's annual muktamar by completely skirting the hot-button issue of its ties with PKR. In an address that lasted a little over an hour at the opening of the 63rd PAS muktamar here on Saturday, Abdul Hadi did not make a single reference to the party's increasingly strained ties with PKR. Abdul Hadi also said it was regrettable to see some political parties out there "racing to oppose Islam". Calls to cut ties with PKR were a central theme of the PAS wings' assemblies held on Thursday and Friday. PKR also sent its vice-president Dr Shaharuddin Badaruddin to attend the PAS muktamar as its representative.
