The arrested, Sushanta Das Gupta, editor and publisher of Dainik Amar Habiganj, was sent to jail at noon following a court order. Habiganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Ullah confirmed the matter. Earlier, Habiganj Press Club General Secretary Sayeduzzaman Zahir filed a case against four people including Sushanta and Sumon, news editor of the same newspaper under the Digital Security Act with the Sadar police station. According to the case statement, the accused published a fake news about Habiganj-3 lawmaker Md Abu Zahir on Dainik Amar Habiganj and shared it on Facebook.
