The government has divided portfolios between the two state ministers assigned to the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, the Ministry of Railways, and the Ministry of Shipping. A notification issued Wednesday by the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges confirmed the allocation. According to the notification, Habibur Rashid will be responsible for the Road Transport and Highways Division as well as the Ministry of Railways. The cabinet, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, comprises 25 full ministers and 24 state ministers, in addition to the prime minister. Under the Rules of Business, the prime minister is responsible for assigning portfolios to ministers and state ministers.
