KUALA LUMPUR: HSS Engineers Bhd said its associate company HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd (HSSI) will resume work as consultant for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), as the project is being revived. The company was originally appointed by China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd in January last year as the consultant for infrastructure works from KM0 to KM213.5 before the project was suspended in July. The contract value at the time was RM25mil. "Due to the shift in the alignment of the ECRL, there will be a revision of HSSI’s scope of services and fees," the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today. The government, in April, said the ECRL project will resume after its construction cost estimate was reduced by almost a third to RM44bil.
