ISKANDAR PUTERI: The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) and the Rapid Transit System (RTS) mega projects are expected to elevate Johor to its next level of economic growth and development. "The government is committed to fulfilling the High Speed Rail project, spanning Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, and the Rapid Transit System. "With the completion of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore HSR and RTS, Johor (will rise) to a higher level, as (the rail links) will bring the next level of growth to the state," he said when launching the Progressive Johor Expo at Johor’s administrative capital of Kota Iskandar today. When citing the PIPC project, Najib said it will transform the state into a major oil and gas hub, providing 4,600 jobs when fully completed in 2020. "People in Pengerang will enjoy spill-over benefits, with more and better roads, electricity infrastructure and (more)," he added.
