The move means that the 59-year-old former head of Prudential is stepping down from his position as chief executive of AIA, the Asian insurance group, and from the board of Goldman Sachs to return to the UK. An announcement was made to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, on which AIA is listed, to coincide with the market opening late last night.
