HRC students collect the spoilsAngus calves venture leads to All-Ireland successFOUR students from the Holy Rosary College in Mountbellew were crowned All-Ireland champions in calf rearing in the Hogan Stand of Croke Park last Friday. The HRC students were first given the calves in September of 2021 when they were in TY. They are now studying for their Leaving Cert and have been rearing the calves for 18 months until slaughter, a project which acts as a sizable aid to their Agricultural Science curriculum. It wasn’t the Ploughing Championships as we know it, as there were no crowds there because of Covid,” explained Catherine Kelly, Ag Science teacher in the HRC and who has been a guiding hand for Amy, Peter, Oisín and Cormac….
